COMSec, 5G & PQC

We participated in Tecnosec 2024

May 16, 2024

On May 8 and 9, Madrid hosted the Tecnosec 2024 event, a gathering for defense professionals, security specialists and LEAs in general.

At this forum, we had the opportunity to present the advanced capabilities of our COMSec solution for communication protection against the emerging threat of quantum computing. During the event, we also participated in a roundtable titled "Secure Communications in the Perspective of Encryption, 5G, Security, and Interception." Our participation focused on several key aspects: the threat landscape with 5G, and the necessity of implementing solutions that protect against the threat of quantum computing.

Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) against the threat of quantum computing

PQC encryption is essential to ensure that communications remain secure even against potential attacks from future quantum computers, which compromise traditional encryption methods, particularly asymmetric encryption, and weaken symmetric encryption. The hybrid and crypto-agile model presented by COMSec allows for quick adaptability and updates to meet security needs (algorithm changes, hybrid persistence), ensuring that our solutions remain robust and effective over time.

In the perspective of 5G technology, secure communications become even more crucial

The 5G ecosystem significantly expands the attack surfaces by connecting a large number of devices, critical systems, and edge-computing capabilities. At the same time, it is an evolving ecosystem, which demands a security-awareness approach.

Our solution provides an essential protection approach thanks to its secure-by-design conception, making it not only resilient to threats but also useful in high-security and evolving contexts.

Our participation in Tecnosec 2024 reaffirms our commitment to innovation and security, offering advanced solutions to protect communications against growing technological threats, including quantum computing.
