New adaptive audio compression system and LDAP support
January 10, 2019
The new version of COMSec now includes a new adaptive codec for optimal call quality in all conditions of use.
This version also includes LDAP support which facilitates deployment in organizations.
The new functionality of COMSec includes:
- Integration with LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), to facilitate user management, especially in large organizations. The IMS server administrator of the COMSec system can import users from the organization, and they remain synchronized in case of updating their data.
- Optional possibility for the user of COMSec to identify with the same key used to access corporate systems managed by the LDAP.
- Use of a new voice codec with adaptive compression level depending on the available bandwidth.
- Real-time visualization of the current signal level by the user, which influences the corresponding compression rate.
- Optimal use of available bandwidth, improving audio quality when the communications network used allows it, and decreasing the bit rate when necessary to keep a smooth conversation at all times.
Both improvements in COMSec represent a breakthrough for the solution. On the one hand, audio quality improves whatever the coverage is. On the other hand, there is a leap in the acceleration of deployments in organizations, offering the opportunity to deploy and adapt contacts in COMSec, according to the information in the directories of the companies at any time.
